Jeffrey Schox is a Registered Patent Attorney and the founding member of Schox Patent Group. He is
licensed to practice law in the State of Michigan, and registered to prepare, file, and prosecute patent applications throughout the entire United States. Drawing on his experience of over ten years in patent law and his degrees in both mechanical and electrical engineering, he builds patent portfolios that enable startups to increase value and attract funding. He has filed over 250 patent applications in a broad range of cutting-edge technologies, including vehicle systems, medical devices, wireless communications, computer software, and clean technologies. Before starting his own law firm, Jeffrey worked at Brinks Hofer Gilson and Lione, one of the largest patent law firms in the nation, where he coordinated the majority of patent applications for a Fortune 100 company.
As a Consulting Professor for Stanford University, Jeffrey teaches the course “Patent Prosecution” in the law school, and the course “Patent Law and Strategy for Inventors and Entrepreneurs” in the engineering school. Jeffrey also teaches a similar course at the new Center for Entrepreneurship at the University of Michigan.
In early 2007, Jeffrey joined the Keiretsu Forum (the largest Angel Investor network) as a resource member. As an angel investor, he has invested in semiconductor manufacturing, medical devices, computer software, and clean transportation.
