Fixed Fee Structure

Unlike most law firms, we don't bill our clients by the tenth of an hour, we don't bill our clients for photocopies, faxes, or postage, and we don't bill our clients for phone calls. Rather, we invoice our clients with a fixed fee for a project. With a fixed fee structure, our clients can properly budget their limited resources, and they can call or email without the concern of a ticking clock.

Comparison of Legal Fees

Every two years, the American Intellectual Property Association (AIPLA) publishes an economic report that includes the median legal fees (not including drawing fees or government fees) for an original patent application. The 2003 AIPLA Report stated that the median legal fees for an original patent application was $9,995 for relatively complex electrical/computer technologies and $8,001 for relatively complex mechanical technologies. With our fixed fee structure, our legal fees are less expensive than these reported legal fees.
